Sorry the ANC means absolute neutrophil count. The neutrophils are the part of the white cell that fights infection.
Neupogen or neulasta are the drugs used to tret low white blood cell counts. However, that decision is usually not made on the total wbc but on the ANC count. Normal is over 1500, gastro docs start to worry at about 750 and most docs put their patients on these rescue drugs at around a count of 500.
I took a good B complex and drank 100% grape juice every day. It kept my counts from going into needing other meds. I really give these the credits. I did a year of tx and it was successful.
Personally, there is nothing you can do like eat food of anthing.
