I'll add that since Riba is usually given with the IFN, they've been running pregnancy tests (on me anyway.)
The only tests is a full liver panel, a liver bx and a standard heath questionaire of you and your family medical histories. Also a chest Xray. Oh and a TB test, I think. That's at the clinical trial site, I don't know about a regular doctor tho'.
I think the test is basically going over the black box warning stuff and understanding what you're facing is the real test as they want you to be totally aware of the specifics.
I was just reading over in the hep social and streamline was talking bout tx and that popped up and I was curious about it.I dont have any other major medical issues(just little things breaking here and there lol) I had never heard of that mentioned before and Ive been reading on here awhile now......Thx cindy
Absolute Contraindications to Pegylated Interferon Alpha and/or Ribavirin

They shouldn't need to test for any of these things, since they would stand out on your medical records. If any of these things are an issue with you, you need to make sure you and your doc know what you're doing and have some back up plans in mind.
Hepatic Decompensation
Autoimmune Disease
Cardiac Arrhythmias
Anaemia/Ischaemic Vascular Disease
Renal Failure
Pregnancy
There are other things in that link that would require close supervision by your doc or a specialist, but those are the ones that might give you a problem with approval.
Can you be more specific, Cindy?
