Transmission from a barber shop straight razor?

I just had a hair cut from the local barber shop.  At the end they used a straight razor to trim the back of my neck which they have always done in the past.  This time they nicked me and I noticed dried blood on the back of my neck when I arrived home.  I noticed they use the same razor with other people.  The person before me had his whole head
shaved with the same razor and after he was done the barber put the razor in a blue solution called virucide.  It only took about 10 minutes for my hair cut and then the barber nicked me with the same razor used on other people.

My wife works in a dental office and they use a simliar solution to clean their instruments but by law have to leave it in the solution for 24hrs and then use a heat autoclave.  Should I be worried and be tested? Should I contact the health inspectors on this establishment?

The public is in great need of education.  You know, I have Hep C and even though I am so much more aware, I just don't think of all these potentials in the course of a normal day.

There was a small town in Europe with a very high hep C rate. it was found that it was due to the barber using straight razor.

even if you could find the guy before you and he said he did not have hep c, he might not know. i dont have the statistic handy but its a pretty large majority of people who are HCV positive do not know it.

Hi, I never let them use straight razors on me either. Maybe you should find out who the guy was before you and just ask him if he had hep C.

Avoid the razors in the barber shop.  Even if there is a small risk you can reduce it to zero.  I never let them near my son or me with those things. Yuuch!  And, what would you expect from the health inspectors?
