Triple therapy with Incivek

I have been treated previously with A) Interferon 1995 B) Interferon (non peg) and Ribaviron 1998.  Levels dropped to normal second time around but quit at week 10 as levels began going up and the side effects were too much.

Now I am about to start Peg Interferon, Rib and Incivek.  Wondering if I will notice much difference in the side effects.  And, because I initially responded well last time, does that indicate a good chance of success this time ?

I am in Australia and we do not have access to the newest treatments yet.

Many people took Tylenol with their shot.  You can't take more than the daily recommended dose.  If your having headaches etc....you might want to confirm this with your doctor.

So, first interferon injection today, nine hours ago, bit of a headache but fine otherwise.  After my previous failed attempts, I was expecting to be shivering with alternating sweating.  At this stage I am doing it without a problem.  Having said that, I just took the Ribavirin.  Hope it is easier this time, the previous attempt in 1998 was brutal.

Welcome to the forum.   I also treated with Incivek.   Stay connected to this forum.   There is others who treated with Incivek on the forum.  Let us know how your doing.   Incivek can be a very trying treatment.   Best to ask the question here if you run into sides effects.   Incivek is unique and has its own set of issues like know other.

Best to you

I did that exact treatment for 48 grueling weeks and seemed to be responding well. I also have the history of not responding to interferion and ribiviran. Six months after my treatment end date I was told that I relapsed. I was pissed.  I should never have even went on that treatment. If I knew from the start that my chances hovered around 35% if that due to my int/rib history I would not have done it. I don't know what your gt is or your IL28b is or what the condition of your liver is. Hopefully your a 2 or something easier to treat. I was a gt 1a, IL28b - TT, liver is stage 2-3. I'm hoping sofosbuvir+ledipasvir is available for me in the fall. Best of luck.
