I sooo understand. Brain fog is our most loyal companion during treatment. You know, the one who never leaves your side.., or better say your brain :-)

Oh, I forgot...  The drug recommended by most liver specialists all over the world is tylenol. It is only damaging to the liver, if taken in higher dosages than recommended. You should follow what your doctor has recommended for you. If he said ibuprofen is okay, you can. I was told not to take it.

Sorry you had a bad night. Treatment is up and down. You will feel really krappy at times and not so bad at other times. Most people are able to function quite normally on treatment. Personally I was bedridden all through treatment, but I went through it. You need to keep your eyes on the prize. Take one day after the other and focus on that one day you will beat the disease and be sure to have a healthy liver. You will be able to make it!!!!

Finishing as soon as your load is down on first results would be a total waste of treating. That is not how this works. Even though the virus will be undetectable in the blood, doesn't mean that you have beat the virus. It takes a long time (for genotype 1 at least 48 weeks) to get totally rid of the virus. It hides in the organs. If you would stop right after you have an undetectable viral load, it would shoot up right away. You have to stay the course to be able to eradicate the virus.

I wish you good luck and hope that you will feel better real soon!

Don't sit and wait for any storm.  We all have some side effects, its just to what degree and how we take care of ourselves while on TX.  You will do fine.  Stay very hydrated, take care of your skin, exercise, eat well, be patient.

I just finished week 49 and I am doing ok.

good luck

Hi .  I actually felt fine my first few weeks.  The first couple days I walked around like there was a piano waiting to fall on my head!  It happened for me gradually.  Increasing fatigue. Dizzyness. I was lucky in that things kind of came on slowly.
You may feel fine, not everyone suffers so much.
Take care,
V

I never felt anything with my first shots either.  Nada.  Zippo. Zilch!

Did you take a couple tylenol just in case the fever tries to come on, you should always take them and not take for granted anything with this treatment.

Consider yourself very very lucky!!!  As time goes by the other sides (lethargy, anemia, rash etc) can set in but know that if they do there are things you can do to help with them (well not really the lethargy).  Best thing you can do is make sure you get a copy of all your test results - post them up in here so people can show you which to pay attention to. For example with the anemia the med to fix the problem (Procrit) works great but it takes from 2 - 6 weeks to work.  So you want to monitor your hemoglobin closely to make sure it's not dropping too much or too fast.

Anemia sounds silly but once you get down under 10 you will know it.

The sides come and go and change all the time but you're starting off great let's hope you are one of the folks who are not bothered by them too greatly!
