Franca, if you have Hep C (HCV) and your platelets are now at 46,000 you probably have progressed into cirrhosis. Has your doctor discussed these results with you yet? Be sure to follow up with a qualified medical professional-

I would recommend that you be cautious. Avoid crowds or anyone who is sneezing or sick. Wash your hands a million times a day. Don't eat raw or undercooked fish or meat or even salad bars for that matter. Make sure to really wash any fruits or veggies before you eat them. If you start running a fever or develop any other sign of infection, call your doc. When my wbc and all other components you mentioned tanked, my doc started me on neupogen. It has helped immensely. Good luck.
No not surprised your not anemic this early in tx, some never get to that point. The Riba usually brings your HGB down some though..........
Thanks so.much. You sound surprised I.am not yet anemic? if I were at this.point , so early.on, wouldnt it be bad, especially since I have not yet started vic?
No worries with those counts, just the tx doing its job. The interferon will cause your platelets and ANC to drop........ Curious though you say no anemia. Keep a eye on that once you start the VIC......... Looking good, hang in there.
