Vanity question:)

This may sound silly after all the really important questions on here....but does anyone know if there are any issues with colouring your hair while on treatment?
Thx.

I haven't colored my hair since before starting tx 25 weeks ago (and boy do I have a lot more grey than I knew).  My hair has still been falling out pretty badly the last month or so, and my scalp is so scaly (always oily before tx) that I wouldn't dare use all those chemicals on it.

I hope you have better luck :)

I colored my hair throughout the entire 48 weeks...every 4 weeks.  My hairdresser was aware of the meds I was taking and took extra care to be kind to my head.  I honestly think the humidifying treatments she did helped. I only lost about 10% of my hair...not noticable at all.

I also only washed it (and myself) about every 3-4 days.  It was easy to get away with going so long because my body was producing no oils...I was like a raisin!

I coloured my roots but didn't wash my hair as often.  I didn't need to anyway as it was so dry.  My hair has thinned though.

Some people continue to color their hair and others don't.  I think the biggest reasons NOT to color your hair is because it can be hard on hair that is already being beat up by the dryness caused by the treatment drugs.  Another issue might be the chemicals on your scalp that might already be tender from the treatment meds.  I made the decision not to color my hair during treatment.
