Very sensitive scalp - too scared to brush/wash/colour hair

Its been lurking in the background since day 1 which was 5 days ago.
Brushing is a delicate job - I just gently brush the hair and avoid contact with the scalp.
Any recommendations?
Am also thinking of shaving all my hair off so I don't risk any sx made worse by the colour treatment. Has anyone done this?
just don't want to break the skin with any chemicals as that will no doubt make the scalp burn with intense fire!

Yeah, my scalp was sensitive also. I stopped dying it,  for the whole 28 weeks, and I stopped combing it. I only washed
it once a week, and a day before that  I put coconut on my hair. I went ALL grey, and after getting the infamous Riba-Rash, always wore a hat. Needless to say, I looked extremely eccentric.
I didn't want to isolate, but I felt "different", so I began to hang-out with
a group of old men in frontof the town coffee-shop, these guys were in there 60"s and 70's (I was 49 yrs) and they all wore eccentric looking hats as well, along with the grey hair, sometimes greasy, or bald, LOL  I learned how to play dominoes, etc.
I did loose a bunch of hair around 6~10 weeks AFTER I stopped Treatment, although I never lost any hair during Treatment, I also never blow-dried it, and used Desert Essence Tea-Tree and peppermint shampoo and conditioner.
At 10 weeks I dyed my hair black, and began wearing make-up again., I got a lot of flack from my Old Man Group, for this deviation~

I do a lot of outdoor work and I just wear a hat or a bandana. I lost 90% of my hair anyway though. . . . .

Thanks for the comments. I can now safely say that it was a reaction to the sun! Seems I am now super photosensitive. This is a real bummer as I'm a totally outdoors kinda person. I never burn - I just go brown.
Woke this morning and the scalp feels back to normal. phew.
No need to shave my hair off but I will look for the hypoallergenic shampoo.

It is a little unclear from your post if your scalp is just sensitive or if there is also a rash or something involved. That said, my scalp was very sensitive when I was on Incivek. It burned even though it was not red and it burned long before I ever got a rash.

I had my hair cut in a pixie style before treatment to avoid the weight of longer hair pulling the hair out. Also, short hair was easy to comb and never got tangled, again avoiding pulling the hair out unnecessarily. Did cutting it help? I don't know. I did lose some hair, but not in bunches. I lost a few hairs every day.

Another thing I did was use a comb with wide teeth. I never brushed it, just used the wide toothed comb, which would be less likely to pull the hair out than a brush would. Also, a wide toothed comb never hurt my scalp. A brush would have been prickly.

For shampoo I used a very mild organic hypoallergenic shampoo. when I washed it I did not massage the scalp and I did not rub it hard or mix the hair up. I just put the shampoo on easily in one motion front to back so as not to tangle any hair or pull on it. Then rinsed it off.

If I used a hair dryer, I set it on low and low (no heat and a slow breeze).

Color and/or perm and/or highlights will irritate the scalp and may also make the hair break off.

I dont think the meds should  be bothering your scalp this much after five days - I definitely would not think of processing my hair with chemicals it breaks off pretty easily after a few months this cannot help it.

You should talk to your doctor in all the years I have been on here I have never heard of anyone having a scalp reaction this bad so immediately.  They might want to know.

Good luck.
