the new fibrosure blood test is supposed to give a good "picture" of your livers health with out biopsy..

i had it done last fall.. and they give a very detailed report.
results were similar to the biopsy i had years before

i assume that if the fibrosure comes back looking very bad then a biopsy right away to compare

..although the biopsy is just a small sample from just one part of a large organ i always wonder if perhaps a "good" biopsy result say grade 1  fibrosis can be misleading is another part of the liver has more damage?

isn't science fun!  i never thought i would have to learn so much medical stuff! lets hope we can be cured and feel well and have a break from al the doctor lingo for a decade or 2!

It means that you have Hepatitis  C.  Viral loads can change everyday.  If you want to find out the current damage hepatitis C has done to your liver... get a liver biopsy.  Viral loads are a good indication if treatment for Hepatitis C is working or not.  You could have a low viral count and have cirrhosis of the liver.  Get further testing to find out what the condition of you liver is.  This will help in seeking treatment right away.....or waiting for better treatment options.

Best to you
