"At this time it looks as if either one of these frugs"...... That should be drugs not frugs, don't know what "frugs" is...:)

What Does My METAVIR Score Mean?

The fibrosis is graded on a 5-point scale from 0 to 4. The activity, which is the amount of inflammation (specifically, the intensity of necro-inflammatory lesions), is graded on a 4-point scale from A0 to A3.

Fibrosis score:
F0 = no fibrosis
F1 = portal fibrosis without septa
F2 = portal fibrosis with few septa
F3 = numerous septa without cirrhosis
F4 = cirrhosis
Activity score:
A0 = no activity
A1 = mild activity
A2 = moderate activity
A3 = severe activity

-----------------------------------------------

It looks as if 3 years ago you were only stage 1 with 0 activity which is great, when you say the "new drugs" I take it your doctor is meaning Either Incivek or Victrelis? As I read here its becoming available in Italy later this year.

---------------

Q: Dr. Aghemo what about Italy? Are there any differences with the German reality?

Telaprevir (TVR) and Boceprevir (BOC) are expected to become available in Italy in late 2012. This 1 year delay compared to other European countries, is due to the necessity to define the reimbursability rules by the Italian national health system. In the meantime, the launch of an expanded access program for TVR for patients with advanced fibrosis and the possibility to request either BOC or TVR for compassionate use, has effectively allowed a selected group of Italian patients to receive the new drugs.

----------------------------------------------

If I read it right you had a breakthough in treatment in your last month of treating. At this time it looks as if either one of these frugs are your best and only shot of beating this, here in the US there is what looks like at this time to be even better drugs but still a few years away...... Hope this helps since I did a lot of guessing...:) Welcome to the forum

hi, thanks for your quick reply

Genotype 1a
the liver biopsy of 2009

Chronic hepatitis aggressive
Small piece of liver parenchyma with preserved architecture with portal tracts expanded to inflammation and fibrosis, the portal inflammatory infiltrate and moderately dense. there are small aggregates of macrophages containing exogenous pigment.
the profile of the portal tracts sometimes displays look scallop. There piecemeal necrosis and mild.
the lobular parenchyma shows foci of spotty necrosis, acidophilic bodies, macrophages containing ceroid.
and this fatty microvacuolare 5%
the framework isologico indicates slight compatible with aggressive chronic hepatitis C virus etiology.
indices of histological activity of hepatitis second Kondell (HAI) 1.1.3.1
index of histological activity of hepatitis Metavir: 1.
Metavir fibrosis score: 1.
second grade of steatosis Brunt: 0

the last treatment was in 2007
during the treatment HCV was negative
the last month of treatment was postive and stopped treatment immediately

during my visit for my docotor advised to wait for new treatment will be available in 2013

blood test on Sep 25. 2012 as follow
albumin 53.0
total protein 8.5
albumin 4.51
total colestrol 201
AST 77
iron 199
ferritin 250

Welcome to the forum.

I agree with Rivil. We need a little more information so we can respond better.

*What is you Genotype
*What is your liver fibrosis stage

*With your last treatment, you said your HCV was Negative during the course.
*Did you have a test the day you finished treatment (or the next day) and, if you did, was it Negative.
*How many months after treatment ended did you have the positive test
pcr 607 UI/microliter

Hi,
I am responding to bump this post up.
More information like what other tx is available to you where you live, your genotype and the condition of your liver.
Good luck
