3 injections of interferon a week is the old way of treating Hep C. Pegylation allows for one injection a week for 24 weeks. Along with Ribavirin this has been the standard of care for quite some time.
It's hard to answer you because we don't know what is available in your country. Here we use Pegylated interferon (1 injection a week) and ribavirin pills daily. Also, Omer says you need normal lfts (liver function tests) and actually that is not true. The majority of patients have elevated liver enzymes when they begin treatment.
inteferon injection 12 injec in amonth for 6 month but before injection trtment u must do lft test your lft test should be normal range
Hi,
There is only one treatment for Hep C Geno 3. Interferon and Ribavirin. It will be 24 weeks of treatment with a 70% chance of success. As to how to start you need to find a Gastroenterologist or a Hepatologist.
Good luck to your father.
