When Will My Post Tx Hair Shedding Stop?!

I never did have any hair loss, during my 28 wk Triple Tx, with Victrelis.  Then, at about 4 weeks post end-of treatment, it began coming out in strands of 5~10, when I ran my hands thru my hair.
I am now at 2 months post tx, and waiting 4 more weeks, until I get my 3 month viral load test done. meanwhile, I have now developed a nervous habit, of running my hands thru my hair, and seeing how much hair is coming out (still about 5~10 strands sometimes)
I am hoping by 3 months, the hair loss will abate? I started out with thick coarse hair, and now have this silky, fluffy stuff now. Will the texture of my hair stay like this, has anybody had a permanent change in hair texture?

No, now that IS a good idea. And a reason to go have labs done.

My hair didn't start falling out until later either, and it started subsiding fairly soon after eot, and now. 2 months post, has nearly stopped falling out. It is growing back and is so annoying, not going to complain too much though. I just cut it off again.

Mine stop falling out at week 12 during treatment, then started falling out again first 4 weeks post tx.I also had a rapid rate of graying. In six months it went twice as gray as it was at baseline.Call me mr.salt pepper now. Some of the women at the liver clinic told me it never grew back after their first treatment, how much truth is in that I don't know. one thing for sure it's different for everyone.

Oh well, I always said that if it falls to much I will shave it. I mean, c'mmon, when I will ever have a better excuse than this to do a Sinead O'Connor?

Ok, if I do't shave it I will go really short with spikes and spray diferent colors with some dramatic makeup... :)

It varies from person to person. I know it is distressing especially if it feels like you dodged a bullet and had only diffuse shedding and/or a receding hair line.

I lost most of my hair after treatment last time. It feels like it took forever for my hair to grow back. When it did it was thick and curly so at least there is something to look forward to :)

Here are some tid-bits on other sites
1. Approximately one third of patients develop noticeable hair loss while on therapy.

2. People on interferon do not experience hair loss in the way that a cancer patient ... Hair loss may continue for up to three months after treatment is discontinued...Fortunately, any hair loss induced by interferon therapy is temporary, and regrowth typically occurs within three to six months from the drug's discontinuation.

It varies but it will stop and it will grow back.
Mine slowed after tx but continues to fall out for several weeks. Now, 7 months post its thick and full though in a variety of lengths.
Don't worry it will return.

Miht take a while. Couple of years ago my hair was falling (non tx related)
Probably the follicule is already dead, is just that the hair did not come out earlier

Maybe scalp massage can help. Have you checked your thyroid values post tx
