Side Effects from TX Drugs -- New Health Page

Epiphiny wrote in another thread:

This is my 2nd tx.  On my first tx I was woefully under prepared, NO ONE had told me how bad it could get and I was completely taken by surprise.  That experience was dreadful, and the fact it was a failed treatment made it even more so.

I had been weighing the pro's and con's of starting a "Health Page" on side effects (both during and post treatment) but her post made me decide it was time to start one.

Thanks for this page.  When I asked my doctor about LT side effects she said they were rare. I mentioned this study :

www.hepctrust.org.uk/treatment/Post+Treatment+Survey+Report.htm#headingAnchor1

which shows fairly high rates of post-tx effects (see table 7) and she questioned whether the study controlled for pre-existing conditions-- which it did not.

Does anyone know of any published research on rates of LT after effects of tx and prevention/ treatment of those?

thanks

Thanks for starting this link.

I've already decided to treat, (well, actually my liver made that decision for me) and threads such as these will be so helpful as I go through tx. Kind of a gauge for me to know when I'm getting into trouble and need to seek medical assistance -  or just to know that I'm not alone with some of my worries.

The only thing that seems to be a given with this tx is that there is no "normal" reaction/response to these meds. This helps make some sense of it all.
