White Blood Count

Ok half my blood work from Monday is back. Not my 12 week test but the rest. I called again about the rash on my legs. The nurse told me my white blood count is a little low but I am fine. Its 3.6 .. This is the nurse I dont trust. She dont know much about HCV..

Can you guys give me some advice on this? Is it too low? I have 11 weeks left on treatment. What can I do to raise my WBC? Etc..

Thank you all so much for being here and helping me so much.

I saw where the rescue drugs are very expensive. Ive not been able to work much with all the infections Ive been having. I pay $215 a month for my shot and riba and my hubby is working himself to death to try and keep the bills paid.

wbc of 3.6 is barely out of range.  The neutrophils (ANC) are what matter.  Besides the neulasta or neupogen rescue drugs (same thing just formulated differently as to how long they last in the body) to raise the wbc and neuts, there is reduction of interferon.  Don't get too freaked out about an interferon reduction.  They will raise it back up when your levels get out of danger range.

The only one of the blood effects that you can actually feel is the low hemoglobin (hgb).  You will feel fine but they still need to be addressed if they get very, very low.

It's not the WBC that is important. It is the ANC (neutrophil count). Your WBC is just fine.
