any success with the decreased riba dose with bocep

Hi everyone-

I meant to make a general post but i think i responded to the most recent post accidentaly.  In summary, I was just wondering if anyone is currently on the riba reduction leg of bocep.  I am 11 weeks into trial.  my VR is lessthan 25 ( after week 8 blood draw)  it is still detectable.  i was just randomized to the riba reduction arm.  I am alittle skeptical that this alone is going to raise my hgb.  has anyone had success with this leg on the bocep trial? any information would be helpful.

thanks
wtgb

Good luck wtgb, I hope your undetectable next draw. I just started the trial today. One of the trial docs I spoke with many months ago told me that a reduction in riba because of anemia should not hurt your chances of svr. Of course they are the trial docs, so who knows.

I'm in the previous trial and my hgb dropped and I had to reduce from 1200mg to 1000mg of riba per day.  I'm also taking procrit and It took about 3 weeks for my hgb to climb up to 10.5.  My doctor does not think that a riba reduction will have any negative effect.  Good luck, I hope my dr's right.
