Gilead trail (unofficial) results for those interested

For those of us in the Gilead trial with GS 9451, GS 5885, peg/inf. and riba. The study nurse at my doc office has informed me that the first patient entered in this trail at the office is UND at week 8. There are several of us that are in week 5-7 and all have had great results with 4 log and 5 log vl reductions. All of us are non responders. I know it is still early in the trail but this may offer some encougagment. I also know this is not official/peer reviewed data. Best of luck to all.

Great news!  Glad to hear.  I too am in a Gilead trial.  Started all oral with 5885, 9451, 9190, and riba.  HAd breakthrough week 6.  Added PEG, dropped 9190 at week 8.  So been on quad therapy for 9 weeks now (17 total of treatment).  After slow start at weeks 8-12, I am UND again.  No side effects except my stomach has a bunch of red welts and slight rash.  Feel great though.  Good luck to everyone!

Good number, yeah it's a great number!!  Oh I see, so these are in addition to SOC.  Cool, I appreciate the education.  There's a couple different drugs in trial by Gilead, I'll have to read the trial info when I get home.  Keep on posting on your results, inquiring minds need to know.  good luck!!

Thanks for the past post on understanding log....I think I can now do the exact calculation. I was just moving the decimal point. My baseline was 17.7 mil IU/ml and my 4 week vl was 580...so if I caluclated this correctly I have a 4.48 log drop. Others in the study have similiar results with some a little better. I think this is a good number.

The sx are not bad just similar to the soc sx. We take the GS 9451 protease and GS 5885 NS5A inhibitor 1x daily in the am with the riba and the weekly peg/intf. shot like everyone else. I do shot #6 tonight. I know it is early and only time will tell if this stuff works.

I hope you are doing well. Thanks.

Amazing news!!  Just a heads up, 4 log and 5 log are out of proportion.  Maybe I'm wrong, see the link.  No matter tho', I know what you're saying and it sounds like Gilead is creating miracles.  BTW, how are the sx's.  good luck with the rest of your journey.  Phase II clinical trial none the less, go nowhine and go Gilead!!
