The rash can really get out of control in some cases - I remember that LookingForward's rash was so bad I was really scared it might become one of those rare fatal ones. I think it is much easier to control if you start treating it early, so don't delay in getting a dermatology appt., and be extremely careful about sun. The sun can give me a new outbreak even with only a very small amount of exposure. Take care!

Go see a dermatologist. I Had a severe rash and I found that my treating doctor just didn't know what he was looking at. My rash  even continued to progress after I stopped the telaprevir. It took the help of the dermatologist to get it resolved. It took about ten weeks post telaprevir. I still have issues but it is much improved.

Be sure to use plenty of moisturizer all over your body and avoid sun exposure. My dermatologist recommended Aveeno Eczema Therapy moisturizing cream (I also like Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion with colloidal oatmeal) and also prescribed Triamcinolone cream 2x daily on the actual spots of rash. She also said to avoid soaps with anti-bacterial or deodorant additives. My rash has never gone away completely, as new areas pop up as soon as older ones are fading, but it stays small in area and not very itchy. The one sure fire way to flare it up is sun exposure though. If I'm going outdoors for more than 5 minutes I have to put on plenty of sunscreen and a hat with a big brim.

Hi, marivirginia. I dont have neuropathy, just tired and sore feet, when I'm in bed, but I had that before Tx also, it started about a couple years ago.
You are doing great with your Tx, wow, only 2 more weeks of the incivek!
                                                                    Hang in there~ Katy

Yes, I did have burning feet and hands. It hit me around week 9 or 10 of the Incivek. It would be worse at night. I figured it was just another part of the rash issues I was having. It began to get better about a month after I came off the Incivek, although I still get the occasional twinge of it. Not nearly as bad. Off Incivek for nine weeks now.

I experienced both. Smell and taste get much better after tx usually. I never had burning, just hands, feet, even butt cheeks fell asleep occasionally. It's getting better. I hope yours does too. Talk to Dr. next visit?
Karen :)
