can u post your stories

your stories are valuable and your tx experiences are valuable, I have given my input into the medhelp forum and i would appreciate the same into the http://hepcaustralia.thruhere.net site, which is another one for all you to tell your stories, please go there and share as i have done here and help with the fight to hep c for all our countries.
We are all heppers and where we come from doesnt matter, we need to get together as a whole.  We need each others support, no matter what.
Come on, HIV got there, why cant we, and by co-joining our countries in this fight maybe we can get somewhere, give it a shot, we got nothing to lose and a whole lot to gain.
We need to unite.

Will you help, cos im gonna give it everything i got.

Linda

"we need to Unite as a World United Hepatitis C United Nations Front."

I agree with the uniting aspect but I'd take the UN out of it.  Everybody knows they are impotent.  LOL

That is just awful about your HMO.  Is there any way you can change your plan?

The thing is, you know they are not the only HMO that has this kind of policy.  It's sad.

I am on Cobra, so I am only on it for 18 months. I wish I could extend truly. So far I pay for nothing.

The scary part is this is part of Healthnet, which some people here have as an HMO as well. When insurance co. can dictate what tests we can get, how long before we have 3rd world status?

I had a colonoscopy before tx and an ERCP. I was actually thinking I need another and was going to ask dr. tomorrow! I wonder what he'll say!

You know if they don't allow colonoscopy, what else are they wanting to deny?

I know you have HCV but I think your life expectancy is more than 5 years, so go for your brown eye check if you want to and make them pay.

I'd go ask for that colonoscopy and see what he says! That is unreal.
Hey, I am on Cobra too and my husband the other day spoke to someone (I will find out who) who told him that no, we did not "run out" after our 18 months like we thought, we can continue for another 18 months after that. I will get details and share. It will be hard for us to be insured now even if we clear. I was going to contact the state high risk fund people too and see what they say.
How are you doing? Hope you had a good weekend and fun with the kiddies. I had such a good week and then got slammed again last week. The day after( and the day after that!) shot days are brutal for me so far from the first shot on thru the last one I took. It wears off slowly throughout the week but some weeks it doesnt. I think the unpredicability is one of the hardest aspects of this thing! Its a beautiful day and I want to enjoy it!
whine whine whine

I heard we are up to 45 milion unisured in this country it is down right shameful the condition our health care system is in. It doesnt suprise me there is rampant discrimination going on. Denying tests like that is an outrage.

Regarding the sexual assault thread below: I find it very interesting that you criticize others (I assume I am included) with rising to the bait and responding to the thread and then you go on and do the very same thing yourself by commenting. That strikes me as either disingenuous or absentminded. Mike
