Hey, are you still following me around :o)?
Signal to Cut Off Ratios for Commercially Available Assays for Detecting Antibody to HCV
Signal Cut-Off Ratio
Predictive of True HCV Positive > 95% of the Time
Ortho HCV Version 3.0 ELISA Test System 3.8
Abbott HCV EIA 2.0 3.8
Ortho Vitros Anti-HCV Assay 8.0
Abbott Axsym Antibody to HCV 10.0
The HCV antibody testing results vary from mfgr to mfgr. Signal to cut off ratio info can be found here:
http://www.cdc.gov/hepatitis/HCV/LabTesting.htm
It’s important to note that a positive HCV antibody result isn’t diagnostic of infection; only suggestive of exposure. If reactive/positive, confirmation using by ‘HCV RNA by PCR’ is required to test for active RNA virus.
Good luck,
Bill
