cold medicine on tx

Can i take sudafed (generic cold med. 30mg with riba/peg?)

I give up...i have gone all week on tylenol, ibuprofen, lozenges, salt water gargle, showers and popsicles.I can't take this anymore! I feel like a tar face swallowing razor blades.

I would also like to run my vicks vaporizer if I am allowed as well. since thats technically medicine I hope its okay.

Please and thank you!

You are good to go with any of the Sudafed family :

Hey there!  I just read this and I am so very sorry that you are sick on top of tx.  When I was sick I put the vicks on my chest, neck even sinus's and it helped break everything up
I don't know if you can or even want to do it.  I was desperate to stop the horrible coughing and it really helped me
Steam would help as well if you are afraid to take anything; you could stand in the bathroom with the shower running.
I am rooting for you

Thank you Hector, i hope you are well this evening;)

Idyllic,

I don't know if its this cold, the hgb or what but I really don't feel right. My chest still hurts a lot and it makes me nervous. I only have one dose of sudafed in the house...days have been the worst and at night I have a sleeping pill that gets me through..so i am saving it for tomorrow. I also may call the doctor about antibiotics????? Its been over 8 days and im sorry to get descriptive but very colorful...lol. i don't feel like my body has any fight in it and I can feel this moving into my chest.

:) i hope you are doing okay girl!

What do you mean?  The way I read Will's link is that it ought to be OK.

interferon alfa-2b/ribavirin
Sudafed 12 Hour Pressure+Pain (naproxen/pseudoephedrine)
Sudafed PE Cold & Cough (acetaminophen/dextromethorphan/guaifenesin/phenylephrine)

Interactions between your selected drugs:

No results found - however, this does not necessarily mean no interactions exist. ALWAYS consult with your doctor or pharmacist.

Or do you mean how you would respond to the Sudafed given low Hgb?

Either way the vaporizer sounds like a great idea. I love the smell of Vicks :) Feel better♥

I hope you feel better soon! So sorry you are feeling so miserable. You are already dealing with a lot and have been doing a great job battling hep C.

As others have said please check with your doctor just to be on the safe side.

I don't think the Vicks vaporizer will hurt, but I would not take sudafed without checking with your treating doctor first and your pharmacy, just to be sure there are no interactions or contraindications.

Sorry you feel so crummy. It does not help on top of these Hep C meds.
