since 2004 i've had this problem with the foul smelling breath, then i was diagnosed with hep c and though everything that was wrong with me was about hep c, lol, i'd probably blame a traffic ticket on hep c, i tried the tonsil stone cleaning you suggested and i must say my life had changed for these past 2 weeks since your advice, i thank you sir for the help, i had stuck food in the tonsil craters and i dont know how long it couldve been there, couldve been years but im now very aware of the tonsil craters and the hell it can trap you in.i try and clean it before bed and before i start my day, no more folks blocking their noses or sniffling, i can socialize again. Thanks JimmyMose

Liver disease can cause bad breath.

Actually they are finding out that breath tests can tell a lot about someones health, not just with the liver.

best of luck

thanks for responding i will read and check out those links, i think dry mouth is a factor, i've tried biotene products and dr.katz products but it seems to be getting worst or not better at all, i recently obtained insurance so i'm able to visit a hepatologist regularly from this point on

I forgot to mention have you seen your doctor lately and have you had recent liver function tests etc. Even though you chose not to seek treatment then you do need to have tests periodically. How often depends on a number of factors

As others have mentioned in many posts here you should have a consult with a hepatologist.

Here are links to University of Washington online course for medical providers. There is much here and I have only referenced the types of test in technical detail.  I like to review this and other topic so when I talk with the doctor i have some understanding and can also ask questions about test and etc.  Note i don't try to test the doctor's knowledge directly but their responses to questions or how they want to monitor and/or treat you might give an indication of their competency in addition to references.

Dry mouth and mouth ulcers

Hep C infection can cause a dry mouth. This can lead to bad breath, cracked lips, and a sore mouth and throat. It can also cause difficulty with eating and swallowing, mouth ulcers, tooth decay and tooth sensitivity.

Visit your dentist twice a year for a routine check up
Avoid hot or spicy foods, which can irritate a dry mouth. Choose soft, mashed or minced foods if eating is painful
Maintain good oral hygiene with regular brushing and flossing, particularly after meals and before bed. Consider rinsing the mouth with salty water and gargling with a mild mouthwash
Try using lip balm. Keep the mouth moist by sipping water regularly. Chewing sugar-free gum can stimulate saliva
Infant teething gels may provide some relief from ulcers
Try oral health products that are designed to ease the discomfort of dry mouth (these include mouthwash, toothpaste, moisturiser gel and chewing gum)
