OOPS! Correction: My VL in '05 was 850,000 and 250,000 6 mos post tox #1.
Actually my VL when this was discovered in 2005 was a measley 250000. I had it 35 years! After 2 failed toxs', VL spiked to 3.8 million.
I just want to clarify my ALT & AST numbers. In August of 07 my numbers were 106 & 165. Pretty darn high. 1 week prior to starting tx 3/28/08 my numbers were 52 & 65. I didn't do anything differently - just had alot more inflammation in 07 than I did in 08.
As far my vl goes - in Aug of 07 it was 1,297,000. Not a lot of difference between your number and mine and like I said, I know I've had the disease at least 30 years. So go figure. Don't worry too much about your vl anyway, that number is only important during treatment. Concentrate on when your going to get rid of this disease, not when you got it.

A vl of 780,000 is not really considered low. I believe they consider low as anything below 400,000, Vl goes up and down. Generally, the vl is much lower than 780,000 if someone has recently contracted the disease. ALT & AST are not necessarily indicators of how long you have had the disease as well. What that shows is how much inflammation and cell death is occuring in the liver. Your numbers are elevated, but not excessive. Before tx, my ALT & AST was where you're at and I know I've had this disease at least 30 years. A liver biopsy will tell exactly what is going on and is a good indicator when assessing how long you have had the disease. But keep in mind, not everyone is the same and liver damage progresses differently in everyone. Did you have a biopsy yet? If not, it would be a very wise to have one. Hope that helps.

forgot to mention,my a s t and alt are like 57 and 65 . could i just caught it recently?
does viral load if help to tell when or about time when one contracted hepc? e.g if viral load is 780.000, has it been there long? opposed to 5 million?25 million? i am tryin to figure if i caught it from someone or from job.
I would say your elevation which is ever so slight was probably caused by the antibotics. Taking a few tylenols here and there can cause an increase. Keep in mind too that tx will sometimes cause the numbers to rise. I've been within normal range since week 8 and at wk 14 mine spiked a little bit (still within normal range) and I haven't taken any other meds except for tx so who knows. As long as they are staying low you shouldn't worry.
