falling after tx diagnose interesting

after a cat scan of my head...that was fine...a ekg...was fine...lots of blood work...was all good except high ammonia..100....and very low vitamin d...my doc says its not the high ammonia ..so next to look at the inner ear to see if there was wax build up causing vertigo...went to the local doc up here in the boonies to look at my ear...no wax build up ,both ears looked fine....she took my bp..it wasn't too bad..still 80 pulse but i'm at 10.9 hgb so thats most likely high to get the oxygen around my body...then she had me sit up and do bp...it started to drop...then stand up....the top # dropped from 128 to 90..the resting  # stayed the same ....funny in all these tests everyone missed that one...she said....she thinks i'm just really out of shape from tx and being in bed most of 4 months...she said even if i was fine at my age and was sick in bed for a week it could take 4 weeks to get back full strength....so 4 months in bed and with tx its going to take time...plus i gained 20 pounds...she wants to order more blood work to see about other vitamin deficiencies ...so...i will admit i'm eating too much junk...anyway...sometimes when i stand up my bp drops like a rock and i go down...must drop to less then 90 because i was ok at 90...this seemed to make sense..and hopefully when i get back in shape i'll be fine....i'm 3.5 weeks stopped tx.....billy

Hoping your feeling better quick.  Im sure it must be somewhat frustrating to stop treatment and expect to start feeling better and then have these issues to deal with.  Take it easy

Sorry to hear you are having these problems. I am sure the doctor told this to you, but I will state it in case he/she did not. When you are in a lying or sitting position, rise slowly. Don't just jump up quickly. In fact, if you are lying down, sit on the edge of the bed for a little while before getting all of the way up. It gives your body time to adjust to the drop in BP from your positional change. Also, be sure you are drinking plenty of fluid. Hope you feel better soon.

Yes most all of us find that our vitamin D levels are tragic after treatment which is why folks like MikeSimon post such great threads about how important it is to make sure we are taking way more than the average bear.

Everyone is out of shape after treatment it seems.........it is few and far between that anyone keeps working out at the gym enough to stay in shape. I never ate sugary sweet things in my life but on tx I craved them...aftewards I did too - and gained back not only the 20 I lost but added 20 more. Yeah that was not so great the scale had never moved up or down in 20 years so it was pretty shocking to find out how hard it would be to lose that extra 20 with hypothyroid - no fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Billy I know what you mean about being out of shape, three months for me flat on my back has just about done me in and I am really tired of being so weak. You need to stand up very carefully as I think that can really affect your bp it does mine.
Hang in there you have really done so well with all the problems you have had....:) anne
