fiber supplements

I've heard several places that a fiber supplement is helpful to control the diarrhea discomfort from incivek.  I've also heard to make sure that you use a water-soluble one, but none of them say water soluble.  They say soluble fiber supplement.  Are all of these water soluble.  I don't want to take something that will absorb my incivek.  Help

I used Heather's Acacia Tummy Fiber (cheapest at iherb.com) and still do. It is water soluble (the only kind you want to use) and flavorless although you need to mix it well or it is chunky right at the end!
I tend to have IBS like symptoms and it keeps them at bay and seemed to do so through the Incivek.
My hepa would not allow me to take any anti-diarrheals as I also have diverticulitis and she was afraid of me getting constipated and causing a bleed from varicies (I have had one upper (esophageal) bleed (vomiting blood) and one lower bleed but luckily they resolved themselves.
The aloe vera wipes also work wonders for any rectal burning.
There are also lots of of other good suggestions on here from people who had more problems than I did. The worst part for me was the 20 grams of fat at 6am when nauseated and in no way hungry. Again, lots of good advice on here for battling

Lots of people on the forum said a water soluble fiber supplement helped keep the stools firm which helped prevent diarrhea.  Other people tried one dose per day of Loperimide, which is an antidiarrheal medication.  Preventing diarrhea does seem to be one of the keys to avoiding the anal/rectal pain.  Less stool passing through, less irritation.  Preventing internal and external hemorrhoids is another key.  Keeping the area clean, dry, soothed, and protected is the other piece that helps.
Good luck.

Hi I did not use anything as I was worried about affecting my tx, it eventually evened out and I was ok
If it had not gotten better once I was off the Incivek I would have used Apple Pectin
I believe that Pooh or someone else used on lopermide (sp) to keep it firm to keep from burning, I am sure someone else will be here soon
Good luck
