finally to start treatment

I'm finally starting treatment after many delays. I'm starting with Ribavirin with Interferon injetions.  I wanted to wait until Wed for the inj. so I can be off for a couple day's does it matter what day of the week I start the Interferon.

Welcome to the Forum!!

To me the day I administer the Interferon matters. The first time around I tried my shot on Wednesday and Thursday and Friday were a bust. I got nothing done. The flu-like symptoms were incredible. I ended up switching to Friday.

I did the same thing this time. I administer my shot on Friday around 4 PM and the sides hit about 6 hours later. Saturday is a rough day for me but sometimes by Sunday I am OK.

If your days off fall around a Wednesday then I would do my shot Tuesday afternoon/evening. In other words, administer your shot on a day when you have the following day off.

I'm with Belle19 when I wish luck to you & definitely drink copious amounts of water......If I didn't hydrate during the day, I'd be up all night sipping water.....of course I'm just talking about myself, but I can see that happening to others as well.......I'd be fried for the next day due to no sleep.....A few days like that & I'd feel like the walking dead......

Drinks lots of water...and best of luck.

It does not matter which day of the week you start your treatment as long as you start both drugs on the same date.

Your viral loads are drawn at ends of complete treatment weeks. That is totally unclear so I will explain. If you start your Inf. and Riba on Wednesday, then your 4 week VL will be drawn on  Wednesday, the same day you do your 5th injection. (VL drawn in am and inj. in pm)
By drawing it the same day you do your fifth inj. you have completed 4 total weeks of treatment. Your 8 week VL will be drawn on the same day you do your 9th inj. (VL am, inj. pm).

Best of luck treating.

For that reason, drawing  the VL exactly after 4 full weeks of medications (Inf and Riba) , 8 full weeks, etc., it would be better to start you meds during the week and no on a Sat. or Sun.
