I do "shots" of 1.5 tbsp of Flax Oil mixed with a bit of orange juice in the morning when I can't stomach anything else. I follow it with lots of water.
My mom used to give me cod liver oil mixed in orange juice as a kid and that gave me the idea. It's tolerable to me.
To answer the question you can use anything that will boost you to 20g of fat.

Husband taking Udos's oil (similiar to flax - a 3-6-9 Omega) and has been successful.  I think the answer is yes, as long as you've got 20 g of fat in there.

Here is a link to a thread where using flax seed oil was discussed for using it to cover needed fat grams for the incivek.
