getting ready to start tx

hi, this is my 1st visit here. i'm 50, female, geno1a. In 2000 I went through 48 weeks of traditional interferon and ribav. to no avail. Lately labs have been nasty, go for biopsy next week. Dr. thinks that teleprevir will be ready by end of may. Is that what others have heard? I also own my own cleaning business and am terrified that I won't be able to work while on treatment. last treatment side effects were almost unbearable. Any feedback greatly appreciated

Hi - I'm going to try again when the new drugs  come out, too.  I'm thinking that knowing what it is going to be like and knowing that we got through it once will make it a bit easier this time.  Also, knowing that you have a better chance of clearing, and if  you make it past week 12 , you have a VERY good chance of clearing will make the last weeks so much more bearable. I had to take a leave  last time.  Made it through the first half, but it was so hard.  Best of luck to us all.  S.

I know what you mean, I'm 61 and a massage therapist, I'm finding it hard to put in a full day.  I cant actually do it.  I'm not experiencing bad sx's but tired, weak, nausea.
I'm in a study w/ a polymerase inhibitor, protease inhibitor and SOC.  I think I got the real stuff, cuz I was und at 1 wk.  I'm curious about new labs though its been 7 wks now.
I will find out more soon.  I am genotype 1 w/ 8 mil. VL  this is a phase II trial. Gilead

   Hi there  and welcome..

Yes..folks around here are speculating that the new meds(Tela and Boce ) are going to  be avail. sometime this spring.

Sorry to hear you r first tx. was not successful, however this should give you a better chance of success and hopfully your side effcts may not be as severe this time around.

Good luck with your biopsy result...

Will.
