Flu shots

I just got off the phone one of the pharmacists @ Gilead and I asked him about the flu shot....what he told me was that he could not give me an answer whether to get the shot or not. He could not tell me if there would or would not be any adverse reactions  he wouldn't give any sort of percentage either way.  I asked him why that would be the case and he told me because they do not have any research in regards to any contraindications. I then asked him if they were planning to do any research in this area and he said "No".....maybe it's just me but more and more people are going to be treating, unfortunately so and the flu seasons aren't going to just stop so maybe it should be researched just to ease people's minds ...or maybe just my mind....our bodies are already being compromised by the virus and the treatments........why not a little research...my day to obsess about the shot! LOL.   JUST FYI

After talking to Gilead I have decided to get the flu shot.  They also said there was no data but that was no reason not to get it.  The risk of the flu outweighs other factors.  Fighting one virus is enough for me. I can't imagine dealing with the flu virus at the same time

As I said earlier, in another thread, I called my Dr when this first came up, and asked if I should get the Flu shot now, or wait til end of treatment..

He said wait!  So like the two of you, I choose to take precautions and stay home, if necessary, and wait til tx is done to get the flu shot, especially after seeing that the shot has only about 60% chance of hitting the strain this year.

I agree. I've been trying to make up my mind about whether to get it or not and am leaning toward not getting it and instead work on staying away from children and busy places. On TV today they said the flu shot only covers about 60% of the viruses this year so we need to be on guard regardless.
