hcv pcr

Hi my friend had hcv postive 2 years back and hcv pcr neg
Now hw went for routine for blood check up he got a report again hcv positive
He worried about it.whether he is having still virus in the body how come hcv pcr neg.nw again hcv positive pls help me.he is again wait for hcv pcr result

Hi i want know once he checked hcv pcr at past one and half year back that report shown non detactable.doctor adviced no need treatment that is past  infection .my qustion again he is testing the hcv pcr waiting for the report.after this two years he dosent have any symptoms.he went for new job they are tested screening for blood.comes hcv postive.thats the resan to again he tested for hcv pcr.he worried about it this 2years symptoms nt possiable to appear.once hcv pcr getting normal report means again pcr report chance to change are not
How long symtyms will not appear.

Could be he had a HVC antibody test once exposed To HVC He will always test positive to the antibody test. Doesnt mean you have the virus He will need futher testing for that

He or she will always test positive for the antibodies. If he has not had an exposure, he probably doesn't have to get a pcr test every time. It is spooky when the results come back positive, but that will always happen...Mark
