Wow,they did a PCR when you went to deal with a disease that doesn't require a blood test and got a viral load. And then got geno type results the same day they took the blood. You've got some pretty on top of it labs. That's awesome !
I like the pa alot she talked to me for a long time and made me feel comfortable. She didn't really focus on if it acute or not except to make me think she ddnt want me thinking it coud be this hospital! But maybe i am just paranoid! Anyway she seems to think all or most of my symptoms are actually coming from something else since my viral load is so low 55k but she really didn't want to say to much fr sure until they dd more blood work. So like i said testing for mono and a few other things that case enlarged liver/spleen and more liver test and alo egd and xolonscope i guess for good measure! I did ask for all the results they have and tod her i will want copies of everything she said she was gonna suggest that anywa! Ok on treatment she ran thru all the things i've learned from you guys and reading but she said she wanted to wait on this arch of blood work and talk to dr and then we can decide what to do which i guess is a god plan if all this sickness is actually being vise by something else and the liver has no damnge then we can afford to wait.
I don’t know how your doctor’s office is set up, but I found that I preferred to deal with the PA’s over the doctors; they usually had more time to answer my questions and seemed more in touch with me for some reason.
Genotype 1 is the most prevalent strain of HCV in Europe and North America, so it’s often the way the dice land around here. Unfortunately, as you probably know, it’s the least responsive to current treatment methods.
By the end of the year, they’ll probably have more of your blood than you do; particularly if you begin treatment during soon.
It sounds like they were telling you they suspect you have chronic, as opposed to acute HCV, huh?
Maybe we need to fund a study to see if excited button clicking is a bona fide side effect of chronic HCV :o)?
You’ll probably want to ask for hard copies of lab and procedure results and start a little file. This help you communicate more effectively here, as well as with other specialists should you require them in the future.
Did they discuss treatment with you yet?
