Ok, let us know. I am VERY certain you will hear good news.
Thanks im going this week ..i promise ..i keep you guys posted thanks again
Getting tested now will give you a definite answer, pos or neg.
the anxiety is killing you. steal some courage and GET TESTED. You will be relieved
no matter what the answer is and i am betting you hear 'Neg.'
Now DO IT! And let us know the outcome.
Thanks you guys have been soo responsive and helpful..thank you again
Lets hope your negative but worse case if your positive for HVC and it is acute some say if immediate Administration of sufficient quantity, vitamin C could cure the entire hepatitis c. Intravenous infusion of vitamin C may be necessary to do the job right without high cost of treatments.

I really have no idea the person who i was stuck with there needle made a comment like " oh i wouldnt worry about hiv but i'd get tested for hep" that got me a little worried. So im not really sure, thanks for you hepl i really do appreciate it.
Well, or that the chances would decrease with a solid bore needle. Do you have reason to believe that the needle was indeed from an HCV RNA positive source? The stats above are from HCV positive source, and are less than 2%; not from general population, which I imagine your incident was?

i stuck myself with an allergy needle that would be a hollow bore needle so my chances increase correct? my minds going crazy sorry.
i got tested that day i had the hep b surf ab and hcv.. i know that the antibodies take months to show thats partly why i didnt bother with the 4-6 week and 3 month and 6 month testing but now im starting to think maybe i waited to long it being 10 months now...but im trying to stay positive.
Does anyone know the statistics of contracting something this way via needle stick. i did take the profalactic meds for hiv but im still concerned.
How long after the inital exposure did you get tested? Did you have an antibody test done or an HCV RNA by PCR? Antibodies can take up to 3-6 months to appear after exposure. PCR can detect the virus within two weeks.

Just stay positive!! You will test negative!! ;)
thanks for the encouragement soooo greatly appreciated:-).. i feel a little better now. thanks again
Steal some courage, hope for the best and i bet you are neg. Do you have any
symptoms of hep c? Joint or stomach pain, dark urine, fatigue? I bet no.
Get tested. all will be well.
You have not waited for too long. Get your tests done and hopefully you have nothing to worry about. And if you do come out positive for Hep C, you can either choose to treat now or wait for newer drugs. There are plenty of people here who were diagnozed many years after exposure to HCV and treated successfully. So, hope is always there :)
HCV is not transmitted efficiently through occupational exposures to blood. The average incidence of anti-HCV seroconversion after accidental percutaneous exposure from an HCV-positive source is 1.8% (range: 0%--7%) (73--76), with one study indicating that transmission occurred only from hollow-bore needles compared with other sharps (75).
