hep c

I was diagnosed last year with hepc stage 4 geno type 3 a. I under went 6 months of drugs called riboviron and solvaldi  It didn't work  and now 6 months later I have developed yellow eyes and fluid build up I am 62  160 pounds female and I guess ive had it for 35 years my liver looks terrible I see the doctor this month am I in trouble I don't drink or smoke im scared

BMS has just released a news release - FDA has approved their Daklinza (40 mg) to be taken with Sovaldi (400 mg) for only 12 weeks.  This new med is for treating get 3s!  

They said in the news release that the med would be available in a week.  The news release was 7-24 so the med was out 7-31!  Call your Dr if they haven't called you.

Just as an added piece of info, I was get 3 but after 24 weeks on Sovaldi &Ribavirin, I am now SVR24 - Hep C Speak for cured!

It is scary but the good news is that there are new and better treatments now.

I relapsed on Sovaldi and Olysio and just finished a treatment with Harvoni and Riba

Undetected at 4 weeks end of treatment. Things are changing so rapidly in this field that many of us who thought we would never be cured are now, finally, Heo C Free

In the meantime, you will want to learn all you can about what to ask your doctor. Are you seeing a hepatologist?
