Serotyping is apperently an alternative form of genotyping which gives the same classifications in virtually all cases.
Unfortunately the new drugs known as protease inhibitors have been shown not to work against type 3.
This means interferon and ribavirin again, and hoping for a better response.
If you used pegasyss last time try the other version called peg-intron this time.
You need to ask your doctor about an aggressive treatment with possibly double dosing of interferon for the first four weeks.
The secret to beating hepatitis c is to knock it out quickly before it can fight back.
See your doctor-good luck.

Do you know your genotype?
If you were stage 3 in April 2006 you need to deal with the problem now.
Where are you (what country)?
It seems that you did not become viral negative on the second treatment (Pegasys) so you need a different treatment plan.

I'm certain it is treatable but you don't have time to wait. There are others on here, who hopefully will chime in with personal experience, that have done so. I'm pretty sure there are some in Grade 4 who have treated. Good luck!
