That doesn't sound to good I guess a wig or my 1st choice short, spunky and gray ....horrible to imagine , who knows it might look good , time will tell.
What causes our hair to fall out is a side effect of the interferon.
Once we stop taking interferon, the hair grows back.
If you are concerned about your looks, I'd go with a wig over putting some chemicals on your scalp.
My scalp already itches and the last thing I want is to add another irritant.
.
I always look at ingredients.
Here's what I found online:
Here is the advertised list of major ingredients that Toppik consists of:
* Keratin
* Ammonium Chloride
* Silica
* DMDM Hydantion
* Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate
And it may also contain the following ingredients and chemicals:
* FD&C Yellow #6
* FD&C Red #40
* FD&C Yellow #5
* D&C Red #22
* D&C Red #33
* FD&C Blue #1
* D&C Green #5
* FD&C Green #3
* D&C Green #6
* D&C Orange #4
In case it happens that is something to consider , I have seen it on the infocommercials on t.v. you spray it on , however my hair is died dirty blond with streaks , my other choice I considered if it happens is cutting it short and letting the gray(yuk) come out and keep it punky.Scary thought !
OK, Listen up. I am told that 'Toppik' scalp spray, to match your hairs color can be purchased and sprayed on to make your hair look thicker and cover visual thinning. I have not had to try it yet but I will when/if I have to. Apparently, all the stars use it to enhance the look of thick hair. Good Luck. Spunky1
The drugs cause the hair loss from the inside. Nothing you put on the outside will stop it. I'm sure there are several things that might help with itching scalp if you suffer from that side effect as I've seen many post about.
If your hair is gonna fall out, it's gonna fall out. It will grow back. For women, might consider a wig.
I've lost lots but still have lots so for now, I'm okay. I have long hair and I put probably an unhealthy value on it... If I thought there was anything that would stop it, I'd buy it. I'm just not convinced.
http://www.salonsavings.com/nioxin/
There are many other sites on the net that sell nioxin products as well just type in nioxin shampoo in your search
i checked for Nioxin here in Montreal, Canada, it is not available here so my pharmacist tells me , anyone know where to buy this ? I am going out shopping to stock up on essentials before I tx sometime in next few months so I want to be fully prepared for essentials in case I need them . Any suggestions is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Word on the street is that Nioxin shampoo, conditioner and scalp treatment work well for the hair loss. Husband just started using it, so I can't say for sure, will update once I know.
Everywhere. But I am the only one who notices and I need to keep that in perspective!
I was told it is the interferon which kills fast growing cells, that would include hair and also the mouth. It can't tell the difference. It is frustrating, last time mine thinned very badly and I cut it, this time leaving it alone to see how much I end up with. Maybe I can take the longer pieces and over up the shorter?. This time it is thinning, no bald spots, if I get to SVR it will have been worth it. If not you will hear me WAAAAAAA :)
I am praying for all of us.

I too lost hair everywhere even lost my eyebrows. Funny thing my eyelashes grew longer and thicker.
I lost quite a bit of hair the first 4-6 weeks of treatment. Since that time it has slowed down tremendously. I'm in week 15? Or something close to that.
that's what I'm thinking, If I didn't have to shave my legs, that could be a plus! I'll take the positives where ever I can find them!
I have lost hair everywhere. glad about not shaving legs or arms .
I have lost hair in other areas as well.
Hair on the head.
And yes, its the interferon.
I asked my hepatlogist just 2 weeks ago.
Don't worry. Not everyone loses hair and it does grow back.
