My husband's doctor prescribed Triamcinolone ointment.  We also used tea tree oil (available over the counter at a pharmacy) on the blisters.  He used Eucerin body wash in the shower and Eucerin lotion after the shower.  Sometimes it helped for him to stand in front of the open freezer door or stand outside in the cool night air.

The antihistamines and anti-itch cremes we can buy without a prescription did NOTHING for my rash, which kept getting worse.

However, the combination of Betamethasone and Hydroxyzine worked amazingly well.

Both require a prescription from your doctor.

Fluocininide is what my dr prescribed to me. Helped really well. Also used gold bond medicated lotiona and eucerin calming cream. Oh and lots of oatmeal baths.

When I was treating and the hydrox or benedry did not work I would take wet wash cloths and freeze them.  Then using them on the itchy spots it would numb the nerves
Have you called your doctor for advice such as taking something in conjunction with the hydroxy or trying a anti itch lotion or gel?
Good luck, it does get better, hang in there
