high blood pressure and platelet count

Hi everyone..
                am kinda having a hard time the last few day.. My bp has been running quite high.. one time it was 169/110 then 159/99 then 144/97.. I have alot of stress.. Dr put me on zoloft twice  100 mg twice a day klonopin  1mg twice a day.. then he sent me to the lab to get platelet count.. Iam really worried and scared and anxiety has been out of this world.. I have depression also.. i basically spilled my guts out in his ofc crying.. i just dont understand all this... Any help might help...

try and take one day at a time.  this disease is a lot to digest but it is not going to kill you anytime some.

this is a wonderful place to expression you fears.   we are all experiencing the same things here.

he just said he wanted to do platelet count.... thats all... I will definately ask next time... he change my BP from 25 mg twice a day to 50 mg twice a day its called metroprolol... I hope bp livels out.. wondering how long that will take.. Guess iam worrying alot.. sorry for being this way...

While no one here can read your doctor’s mind, your doctor might have ordered platelet testing because they can often give some insight to liver health. For instance, people with cirrhosis often have markedly reduced platelets; have you had a liver biopsy recently? If so, what were the results?

Hopefully the Klonopin and Zoloft will offer you some relief from anxiety and depression. In the future, ask the doctor specifically why he’s ordering tests; it’s much better to hear these reasons from him, rather than resorting to speculation.

why would dr check platelets.. just curious.. is it due to me starting new medicine.. to get base point... Iam so worried
