My husband has been off of INC for exactly one week.  Tx has not been that difficult for him, fortunately, but for 4 or 5 days post he felt really awful, weird skin pain, nausea, brain fog - you name it.  Gradually felt better, and today he told me that he feels as good as he did pre-tx.  Not expecting that to be the case for the remaining 11 weeks, but we'll take it.  BTW, his hgb went from 11.2 (which was it's lowest) to 12.9 when they checked him 2 days off INC.  Have heard from folks here that the transfusion makes you feel much better.  Hoping it gets much better for you post INC, it's a tough drug.  Good for you for hanging in there

Hi Rex,  I know when I finsished Inc.  I felt better but it took some time.   Seems like there was about a week of some kind of weird withdrawal.   The way the INC worked on me is it made me sleepy most of the time, so therefore I slept alot.   Out side of riding the horrible SX  IE:  Hemorrhoids, rashes, itching, fireeah, nausea , and ECT. way great, but it seemed like the INC dispersed there was a whole new set of SX with just the Riba & Peg.    The SX of Peg were more Prominent and so was the Riba.    No more diarrhea, but Riba cough, and a different kind of rash was more prominent.  I started having stomach problems and and eventually had to have my gall bladder removed due to a large stone.  I did get some relief there.    I just finished 24 weeks of Triple TX with INC. and I am post 4 days.    I am still fighting fatigue and nausea , but I am having alot more clarity in my mind and some small bursts of energy.     Everyone is different the way these very strong meds work on them.    Now it is a time for me to adjust everything, from Blood Pressure meds, AD, anxiety meds and others.     BTW,  I was introduced to Blood Pressure meds after I finished INC after 12 weeks.    Again, I say everyone is different.    Just be prepared and stay in tune with your body and keep close to your GI and Forum.     Blessings,  Youre going to do just great !    Livininontheedge

I finished Incivek on Dec. 18th and felt better by the next day, and better yet as time wore on. I still had the SOC side effects, fatigue, malaise, muscle aches, etc., but I felt much better. I am not 100%, of course. I am still on Zofran for nausea, and my rash took off with a vengeance at week 10 or so. The rash has been a real pain and I am on fluocinonide ointment, zyrtec, and hydroxizine for it. I think this week, the last couple of days, it is finally starting to turn the corner and get a lot better. Still there, but better. The thing with the rash is that it could be the Riba and not the Incivek. Mine seems to be from the Riba.

I never had anemia (lowest I went was in the 11.1). But I have read others saying their anemia did improve. The other drugs can cause anemia too so it is hard to tell.

I surely hope you feel better.

i felt way better the first three days after stopping incivek...and did way too much....then my hgb dropped even more...by that time in tx i was more use to dealing with my low hgb but still no fun...i will say mentally i felt way better...making tx easier to take..the numb feeling in my head from the incivek went away...during txi only had about a total of maybe 8 good days...2 or three every once in a while...i would keep taking it easy even if you feel good...hang in there and good luck...billy

I have head many people on here who have said they felt better.  I had a problem which was Incivek triples all benzos and blocked SSRI AD's so I had a rough time.  As long as you are not on any meds which were contraindicated with Incivek you should be one of the people who feels better
I wish you the best, if you are on a benzo or an SSRI I would let your doctor know.
Best wishes
D

A lot of people on the forum have reported that they felt better after incivek.  I am not one of those people.  I did not get hit with the anemia until a couple of weeks after completing incivek.  Although the 12 weeks on incivek were tough, flu like symptoms the whole time.. I was at least able to walk and stand..  But, after I finished and got hit with the anemia, I was unable to walk more than 10 feet, stand for more than a minute and I had to prop my arms up with pillows in order to type.  So, just be careful.  I'm hoping you will be one of the people that felt better.. Good Luck and congrats for making it through the first 12 weeks.
