I've read that there are two waves of SX from IFN. I definitely felt two waves like others have said. Good luck just keep plugging away it does end some day and at times this is hard to believe.
when i started i got bad chills ..fever ...the day after the shot....then in time the sx were worse about 48 hours after...fever but not too bad i take advill...now its 48 to 72 for sx...some chills and light grade fever...not too bad...my anemia is by far the worse sx i get...billy
throw my dart on friday and feel its peak mon, tues, wed. like clockwork
My husband never had any dependable pattern either. (He is a repeat TXer) Just about the time you'd think the pattern was set, it would change. His shot day is Monday afternoon this time and Wed and Thursday seemed like the peak but he had a raging fever all Sat. night??? Now I would have thought that he might have been getting better by then. He is much better this morning but it is shot day again. Back on the rollercoaster!

My experience on SOC is very similar to Pam's. Friday eve shot, feel good all weekend, then feel the sx the first few days of the week the worst. But as soon as you think you have that figured out it changes. This makes it very difficult to plan, so just try to go with how you feel, get plenty of rest and keep stress level down if possible. Best of luck.
As others have said everyone ha different side effects, this is my second time treating and I see a pattern starting like the last time, hopefully you will get into a pattern too, it took me about 4 weeks to realize I had one :) Also I read someplace that it take a while for the interferon to reach its peak level in the body. I had something similar where I would take the shot on Friday night, go through sx, start to feel a little better then whamo another sx out of the blue. Someone more knowledgeable than I may be able to help better than I can
I wish you the best

paen53, frijole, Linda607 thanks for the replys. yeah, so far each week has been a little different for except the last two in which the symptoms always came a few days after. So hopefully that will be the schedule, but like Paen53, said, Sure as shooin' as it will change again ! So I will keep the tylenol ready. Shot 4 tomorrow nite hopefully this week will be better. Keeping Grace on our side ! Carrie
Only did SOC with shot nite on Fridays and as a rule, weekends were good, then come Sunday evening, sx hit and lasted to Wednesday, then a couple good days before shot night arrived again.
It's so different for each of us, but it is nice when you find your rhythm so you can balance work and play around it somewhat. LOL but sure shootin', as soon as you do, it'll change again. Nothing like keeping us on the edge of our seats!

I never had bad chills or fevers but sure did have high days and low days. It could be that your bad days will be the fifth day after shot. I hope the tylenol will have an effect. I took shot 6 last night and will probably take tylenol every 6 hours today.
Peg has a way of sneaking up on you. You may feel nothing for days or weeks and then all hell breaks loose. Take some Tylenol and ride it out, it should pass. However, stay in tune with your body, if the fever persists and you develop upper respiratory problems or feel like you have infection give your doctor a call.
