"so much for the efficient teaching hospital..."
-----------------------
But in order to 'efficiently teach,' there have to be a large number of people present who have something to learn...

thanks for the info...
I will take it back..
wish I had noticed the iron when I bought it.
Hey, did I tell you they had to take blood 3 times today?
the first time the guy that took it put the wrong label on my vials.
Mr doc said she was going to write him up, I wasnt mad though, but I did tell him he owed me 20 bucks for the screw up. he didnt pay.
and then I had to have it down the 3rd time because they failed to run the viral load test, which is weird cause I saw the order and it was down.
so much for the efficient teaching hospital... I will say this, they were incredibly busy today and extremely apologetic.
thats good, now they owe me.

I would take it back. Remember that iron overload lowers SVR.
"I was planning on still mixing my powder protein drink (with no iron , but too much sugar!) and just wanted the cans for when I am lazy and don't feel like mixing the powder."
ROFL....mix it....you need the exercise....LOL. Or you can put it in the blender....or get one of those shaker cups.
But if you insist on using the canned stuff.....
Boost High Protein has 15 grams of Protein and 18 grams of sugar (same as if you ate 4 and a half Lifesaver candies)....and 4.5 mg of iron which is a very small amount. If you want to use canned drinks that's probably the best you'll find. Even the protein drinks for diabetics (which would have less sugar) have some iron.
"my powder protein drink (with no iron , but too much sugar!)"
Costco has "Pro-Rated" (2 lbs)....27 grams of Protein per scoop, 2 grams of sugar and NO IRON.......$19.99
Vitamin Shoppe has "Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Gold Chocolate" (2 lbs)....24 grams of Protein per scoop, 1 gram of sugar, and NO IRON. Also on sale for $19.99
And if that doesn't work, you can get some of the bulk powder protein sold at Health Food Stores. Ask for the one with more protein and no iron. If they don't have what you want, they can order it.
thanks for the input!

your iron will build your whole time on tx. Easy to get in, hard to get out.
I try to get things with 5% iron...including cereals and pastas etc.
Many are fortified and have 10-15%....over time you can get into trouble this way, especially if you do consume any meat or eggs which are high sources of iron.
there are about 5 good iron discussions in this forum over the last year, just run a search and read through them.

wait, we were discussing iron on another thread just yesterday
