Biopsy numbers are usually looked at in regards to the metavir scoring below. The stage means fibrosis and the grade means amount of inflammation going on.
What Does My METAVIR Score Mean?
The fibrosis is graded on a 5-point scale from 0 to 4. The activity, which is the amount of inflammation (specifically, the intensity of necro-inflammatory lesions), is graded on a 4-point scale from A0 to A3.
Fibrosis score:
F0 = no fibrosis
F1 = portal fibrosis without septa
F2 = portal fibrosis with few septa
F3 = numerous septa without cirrhosis
F4 = cirrhosis
Grading:
Activity score:
A0 = no activity
A1 = mild activity
A2 = moderate activity
A3 = severe activity
All I know is I had the biopsy, it wasnt bad at all, I was really worried about this. It was a piece of cake! They told me that they were checking for fibrosis for cirrhosis. This will help ***** the early vs andanced stages on Hep C. I never even noticed a #. The MD just said Fibrosis NO Cirrhosis, and that was good enough for me! Hope you get good results! As for the migraines, I have not had this issue.
