major red eyes

hey all,

so my eyes have been majorly red for the last week maybe...I am guessing it is because I get tired, or maybe they are starting to get a little dry?  They don't feel to dry yet, one eye actually feels like it wants to start watering a bit. Has this happend to anyone?  I'm guessing this is normal?  Would eye drops be the magic cure?

thanks for any and all input

I agree with pooh, I'd get myself in to an opthomologist pronto to properly resolve this problem.

Okay, I was not sure, just figured triple meds. However, it is the Duo that can cause eye problems.

I was having problems before I started with dry eyes, irritated eyes, felt like something in them. That is why my opthamologist put me on Restasis. He was afraid they would get even worse (and the Systane alone was not doing the job).

When you call the opthamologist, remind them that you are on the triple med treatment and they should see you right away.

Personally, I do not think red eyes are normal, especially for a week.

The meds can cause dryness as well as other problems. Also, if your eyes are red, could they be irritated or infected.

If, it was me with the red eyes, I would call my opthamologist (the one who did your pre-treatment exam), tell him what is going on with your eyes, and hopefully see him. I also would not put any drops in them until I talked with the opthamologist.

(You may have to be placed on eye drops for the duration of treatment. Several of us are on eye drops and will stay on them until treatment ends. I am on Restasis and Systane. Restasis is prescription.)
