medicare and medicaid

I have only medicare and medicaid both. I was wondering if I can get treatment for my hep c? My next appt is not until the 28th of April. I read I could still sign up for medical insurance but do not know if that would be helpful or not. Does anybody here know if the hep c meds are covered with disability or medicaid? Should I try to get some regular insurance?

I have a medicare supplement drug insurance called a PDP with Humana so I do not know what they cover, I did get an earlier appt., I called my doc and ask if they had any cancellations and I can get in the morning! This is a new doc, infectious disease doc, she is taking my old docs place that moved out of state so she will have all my old records! So I will find out more in the morning I guess.

Hector, my medicare card just says A and part B, I have a PDP preferred RX plan with Humana? Would that help? I am going to call to see how come I do not have Part D. I have medicare for disability, that is how I got medicaid. I am 59 yrs old. Is that why I do not have Part D? thks so much!

If you have Medicare and Medicaid, you will usually get your drugs covered by the Medicare prescription drug benefit (Part D) and the Extra Help program. Extra Help is the federal program that pays for most of the costs of Medicare drug coverage if you meet the eligibility requirements. In some limited cases, Medicaid may cover drugs that Medicare does not cover.

As long as you have Medicare Part D your drugs will be covered.

Call Medicare if you have questions.

Good luck.
