milk thistle, hep c, interferion

i have hep c and at this time delay treatment. will milk thistle help my liver.  anyone on the interferion treatment please tell me what to expect of course i would rather do the milk thistle if it does in fact help

There are currently 2 new meds approved for the treatment of HCV if you have geno type 1.  It involves taking three drugs in total . Intereferon ,ribiviran and either Victrelis or Incivek.. These treatments are for a period of 24 to 48 weeks (depending on certain factors and your early response)

If you have either geno type 2 or 3 then the protocol is to do just the combo of Inf./Riba for 24 weeks.

Have you seen a specialist to ascertain geno type and other tests to  assess the amount of liver damage (fibrosis) you have?

Milk thistle will do nothing to eradicate HCV.

what is Incivek ?  verses Interferion treatments ?  I dont know much but do have hep c and of course want to take the less invasive treatment possible. what is the length of these treatments,  isnt there a new interferion that is a shorter treatment span ?  thanks for all the comments I need your knowledge.

BTW, most of the non prescription, non-tx oriented HCV remedies that are on the market are indeed a 'cure'....a cure, that is, for the people pushing these 'remedies'.   it is a cure for their "lack of substantial income!"  I am sure thay are very happy that many people still flock to the 'natural' cures, because "curing the marketer's poverty" is most likely the number one goal and outcome in buying into these unproven, ineffective, money wasting programs.  Milk Thistle is just another in the long line of time and money wasting 'hope and a prayer' options for those that do not wish to consider the only thing known to provide a real cure...state of art tx drugs.  Save your time and money.   DD

I have tried Dr. Cabots livatone plus for years I don't think it is a cure or I wouldn't be on the triple treatment. I am on Incivek and have had a rough time but u gotta do what u gotta do. I have sores in my mouth a very angry rash all over my back an now moving to other places you may also experience anal burning. Lucky me I have all three, but I have seen ppl on this forum who have very little sides at all. Not to scare you or anything just the facts. Good new though I am undectable for HCV. Now just gotta make through the rest of this.
