Also, yes - my Phase 2b trial is open-label.  From observing my co-participants, you tend to know if you're on INF, even if you somehow manage to sleep through the injection!

I am (was?) Genotype 3.  My trial is all Geno 2/3.  12 wks RBV + PSI-7977 + 0/4/8/12 wks of IFN.  The first three cohorts of 5 overlapped at the clinic at times, and amongst the 15 of us, it seemed 100% went UND in < 4wks.

Juttutin, what is your geno?

It sounds like the efficacy of PSI-7977 surpasses that of telaprevir and boceprevir by a wide margin, particularly re treatment that does not include INF.

I know someone who will be interested in participating in a Phase 3 trial and will watch for info about that.  Presumably it won't be possible to do a double blind trial of trial drug and ribovirin versus SOC, since people would know immediately whether or not they're getting INF.

Finished 12-weeks of only PSI-7977 and RBV last week - monitoring for further 24 (I think) weeks.  UND after <3 weeks. I'm not sure their timeframe for Phase III - they seem to trying to work towards accumulating evidence that SOC treatment isn't reqd alongside their own.  I don't get the impression they feel they're in a race for time.

Treatment with two oral drugs developed by Pharmasset resulted in 15 of 16, or 94%, of patients reporting undetectable levels of the hepatitis C virus after 14 days, according to interim results from a study released Monday.

Good for you!
Are you familiar with where VRUS is in the pipeline, like are they about to begin phase 3 ?
Are you still in treatment?

There's also this:

http://www1.easl.eu/easl2011/program/Posters/Abstract9.htm

"PSI-7977 PLUS PEG-IFN/RBV IN HCV GT1: 98% RAPID VIROLOGIC RESPONSE, COMPLETE EARLY VIROLOGIC RESPONSE"

Which also mentions this tidbit in the 'Background': "100% RVR and cEVR have been reported in HCV GT2/3"

I should probably disclose that I bought a very small parcel (300 shares) of VRUS (Pharmasset) after I went RVR in a continuing trial of PSI-7977.

Yes Juttutin, I watch a few HCV stock prices in order to see who's having good test results. I would love to see all of them skyrocket, knowing how many people like me are looking for the cure.

Was wondering what caused their 20% share price surge today...
Good news indeed!
