need answers

my dad is in the hospital with high levels of ammonia he has Hep C and i am not sure how bad it is..really want so advise on what i should expect.

elevated amonia level is associated with liver cirrhosis , if it's high enough it will cause hepatic encephalopathy which is an emergency and needs quick intervention
