I had a liver biopsy as well as an ultra-sound. The first biopsy read that I was at stage 1, grade2 and the last one, 4 years later said that I was stage 3-4, grade 3. so I have progressed rapidly. My Helatologist says not to fear though, there wil be a treatment that's right for me.

I'm holding onto hope.

How did you get F2 ? What test biopsy,fibrosure,fibroscan.... ?

Try back up the F2 result with another test. They all have inaccuracies.

I just did a fibrosure that gave me F3. I repeated same test same lab

one week later. It was F4. From all my labs , scans ect... neither one is

true.

I have tried the epipen and that was no good....

waiting to treat will only make it harder to clear the disease. The sooner you tx, the better off you'll be. Your body had to fight harder to clear when your at stage 3 and beyond.

Whatever you do whether you decide to treat yet or not make sure you WATCH and wait ... don't just do the wait part.  At stage 2 you still have some wiggle room time to decide what is best.  Do you have a good support group around you of family and friends? Good insurance? Time off if you need it?

There are lots of things to consider. Myself I was geno1A and 1B both and already stage 3 so I didn't think I had time to wait.   Treatment is long and hard but it's doable....no fun but when you win the battle - it's worth it.

Good luck.

Anything that involves Interferon and Riba is not an option for me. I was Hospitalized once during the first attempt and 3 times during the last attempt. The two durgs make me sick to the point that it's dangerous for me. I'm waiting for a treatment to come around that doesn't involve those drugs.

Anyone know of possible treatments that don't include Interferon or Riba ?

Thanks,
Mollyrae

whatever you do try to get into a trial with a third drug or at least take

Alinia. Try not to do SOC just  by itself.

what geno are you ?

i am geno 4 and the future tx right now is triple combo

i am already predosing Alinia and i am trying to get into a trial

with a very promising PI.

So yes , SOC alone is becoming old school.

Are you thinking of getting in on the PIs /

Im stage 2, grade 3. I'm looking for a study and will definitely tx. If I am going to be lucky enough to get rid of this, I am hoping my liver will still be able to reverse it's course. Good luck and I am sorry you have to deal with this! Dave

I agree that no one can tell you what to do. What does your heart tell you? I tx'd at stage 2, grade 2 and was ultimately diagnosed as a non-responder. I gave it 2 tries with no luck.

In your case and in my opinion, I would tx with some of the newer treatments avail.

I was diagnosed in 2005 and since then have gone from stage 2, grade 2 to late stage 3, grade 3. So unfortunately, I am progressing rapidly.

The sooner you tx and before you advance any further, it's advised that you seek treatment....like I said, just my opinion.

Take care and good luck with your decision.

forgot to ask what geno are you ?

If you are 2or3 the common consensus is to treat 24wks and not to wait.

Welcome to the muddy waters of middle stages.

If you are 100% certain you are at F2 you can wait until F3 but nobody

can tell you how long that will take so you have to do "watchful waiting"

Problem with this situation ( i have the same problem) the middle stages

like F2 are difficult to determine no matter what technique is used

biopsy, fibroscan, fibrosure ect.... on top of that nobody can give you

an answer how fast you will progress. Best chances for that is if you know

exactly when you got infected and than do biopsy. With that information

doctors will attmpt to give you prognosis but it is no garantee either.

all have their accuracy problem. How many years do you estimate you would like

to wait ? how did you get F2 ?
