Week 5: Tally Ho! Platelets at 34...

Well, the week 4 CBC labs came back, and I am still on the reduced dose of interferon..  90mcg, but moving forward!

Next gate, viral load.. the quantitative test takes a few days, so I will not get results until Wed. of next week.. so still keeping my fingers crossed.

Thank God I am able to work from home, as I am not sure driving to and from every day would be doable.. and been feeling a little rugged the last couple of weeks.. but not so bad that I want them to tell me to stop!

If you are feeling charitable, a little prayer my way this week would be great!

Cheers and have a great weekend all...

Thanks all!  I will obviously post the VL results as soon as they call me next week (depending what they are, you might be able to hear my reaction, and I live in MN!)

Hey Hal,
Today while out walking I saw a first, a big sign saying, Free Hep C testing!

So, of course I went over there and blabbed away with the people hanging around.
One guy told me this story about another guy who is on the transplant list.
Since he had cirrhosis, his doctor began him on a low dosage of interferon, slowly increasing it over the course of treatment.
And he is now SVR.
He still needs a tp,due to severe liver damage,  but the point is, he got rid of HCV in an unconventional manner.
Don't give up because you're doing it differently!
