My sex drive was diminished by the treatment, only to return afterwards accompanied by chronic impotence. We are all test subjects- unpaid test subject, so the experimental drug can be "perfected". In 1940 germany had camps for this.
Geeze - Since you're foregoing the real thing, you'd think maybe you wouldn't have to listen to all the yackity-yack! Do you get the, "Does this wristwatch make me look fat?" There's no winning that one.
I had Hep C for (I think) 28 years and my sex drive has been fine throughout. I agree with Trish, I'd look for another cause. Good luck.
Nope. The callus on my right hand speaks for itself.
....have had Hep C for 23+ years now...have not had an issue with this. It could be Hep C related but I'd tend to look in other directions. Someone mentioned depression, that has various impacts and perhaps that could be an impact as well. Good luck.
I don't know if it's the fatigue from the Hep C...., relationship problems as my husband doesn't live with me-long story-but we still love each other..., or the hormonal thing. I was on Estrogen only for many years as I have no ovaries due to a hysterectomy many years ago. However, I stopped the Estrogel (a plant based gel) about a month ago. It was time as, I had been taking it since I was 30 and I'm 47 now. It got to be risk factor versus benefit factor for me. Yes, I do believe that there is benefit for us women as far as the Estrogen goes. But, for me, I was on the Estrogen for all my treatments and I still didn't clear. It's not been too bad for me as far as the weaning off the Estrogen though. Back to the topic, sex drive. Like I said above, there as other factors involved in my situation, but I think that the Hep C is one of the factors. Susan400
If yous was a guy the Procrit would do the trick, but seeings how yous a girl I don’t have an answer for your dilemma but to tell the significant other to be creative. The Procrit did the trick for me but was a little expensive.

a sex drive....is that akin to squeezing a turnip?
I don't know if its the energy drain, or chemo...both ...and then ....is it hubby's donald trump hairdo, or the thought I might give him HCV....I guess there's lots that can turn us off under certain circumstances....(just kidding about his hair).
there's a couple of dudes in here that would gladly help you get it back though.
i've begun to take estrogen again...I was making none...so this has helped some now, and it also slows liver fibrosis one study showed.

Unless there is significant liver damamage causing hormonal imbalance most patients (Isee youare a 40 year old female) most patients, particularly those who aew unaware of their infection are fairly normal in this respect.
Lack of sex drive is most cetainly associated with depression which is common either because of symptoms or the effects of treatment.
Antidepreesants of most classes also reduce sex drive significantly.
One of these factors may be be the cause in your case.
