pegasys dose

i am a non responder, after 2 previous tratments with other interferons, now after having a liver biopsy my dr wants me to go on pegasys with copegus, he wants to prescribe the 180mcg/0.5ml shot  along  which is prefilled but he wants me to take  some of the other prefilled shot which would make it more than the normal 180 mcg. i did not ask him exactly how much it will total cause i have doubts about this,i have never heard of this. and may just stick with the 180 once a week.i was also prescribed 1200 mg of copegus, if  THE 180 pegasys is increased won't i have to take a higher dose of copegus ? i haven't started the treatment yet, even though i have the meds at home, this sounds kind of strange to me !

What sfbay said.
As a non reponder you would need to try something different and Double Dosing stands a chance of producing a response.

We are discussing double dosing on another thread below by Myown. YOu may want to check it out. There are pros and cons of doing more than the 180. Personally, if I were a non responder, I would try it for a little while and get PCR's often to see if it is working. ONce you hare clear UND, you possibly could cut it down. Of course this is up to your Dr.  Check out the thread, we have been talking about it for days....
