If given nupogen for low treatment induced low ANC (typically <500 or 0.5 scale dependent), I think it would be abnormal not to have pain in the large bones, but typically resolves within 2 to 4 days of each shot.
I have have pain that I never had before treatment. It's interesting that doctors are so quick to say that this post treatment pains aren't connected
to treatment. I agree with dustbear that it can make old injuries surface and
does cause post treatment pain. As Hector states... your friend should see a doctor because it might not be connected at all. Then again, it could be.

I have an old back injury that flared up once I started treatment.

I Agee..increase and weird pain are sides of treatment.
I had an old knee injury that flared up with treatment also. Hepatitis C treatment is not and has never been easy. It's not for the weak minded and
it zeros in on past injuries. It loves to work on your skeleton muscles and
makes you question the very treatment itself. Should you tell your Doctor?
Sure you should. Do medical doctors know that treatment effects body like this? Yes they so?

Back pain is a side effect, plus I think it works on old injuries. I have an old back injury that flared up once I started tx. After 3 months of pain and trying massage therapy and taking tons of Tylenol/Advil etc. I went to acupuncture. In 2 visits, I have experienced dramatic results.
I agree with you. She should ask her doctor who is treating her. Only the doctor has access to her medical history and what the possible causes of her backaches could be from.
Obviously many people have backaches and other aches and pains who are not treating their hepatitis C.
Take care.
